oops...

So I've already failed at regular updates. Its one of those things that every night I mean to do but after putting the chicken to bed, organising our dinner, eating dinner and spending time together I am pooped and can only dream of bed. When does it all stop being so exhausting! (i mean this in a good way though, its a good, fulfilled exhaustion)

So New Years was a quiet one as expected. A few drinks in the afternoon with friends, a play in the park and a champagne at home by the windows. The weather was very warm and I love sitting by our window at night on our quiet street. I think how the chicken won't know this place where she was born, and the only place she knows as home so far... I hope she loves our new/old life back in Perth and doesn't hate us when she's a teenager cos she was born in 'cool' Melbourne and we moved her to Perth! Ha!

This new families first Christmas...

...was the best ever.

Opened a few presents at home a few days before Christmas. (ok, we were "accidentally" opening them all week) then down to our favourite spot for a few days in the cabin.

The weather wasn't the best, but that didn't stop us spending as much time on the beach as possible. The chicken loves the beach! which is handy as that is a requirement to live in Perth I hear.

Lots of feeding the ducks, drives in the car and sitting around the fire once the chicken was in bed cooking chicken wings and drinking fine wine.

Best Christmas.

So I've been trying to decide what this is all going to be about, what have i got to say, if anything at all. Probably not much, but does it have to actually be about anything in particular anyway.

It's coming up to New Year's and we are about to embark on a new chapter yet again. (It's been a year of new chapters already!Namely one Little Chicken!) and I've been thinking about resolutions. I've never been big on New Year resolutions, but I think its time to change that. More on that closer to the date I think.

It's our final few months in Melbourne and I am constantly drifting between sadness at leaving my favourite town and excitement about going home to family and friends. If only I could merge the two! Hopefully we are making the right decision. I suppose we'll soon find out and nothing is forever anyway.

So thats a little bit abut how I'm feeling about today. Let's see where this goes.
